About The Position

The Base Operations Supervisor supports and leads Big Sky Resort’s Parking & Shuttle Guides as part of the Mountain Operations team. In partnership with the Base Operations Manager, and when that manager is absent, the Supervisor provides hands-on leadership and oversight to help the crew deliver a welcoming guest experience. The role focuses on team support, guest service, and the operation of parking, shuttle, and related base-area services.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• General knowledge of Big Sky Resort and winter operations.
• General knowledge of parking and traffic control operations and basic knowledge of fleet maintenance management.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Basic computer skills, including email and spreadsheets.
• Ability to handle confidential information and follow policies and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and build positive relationships across departments.
• Flexibility with work hours and days, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and to stand, walk, lift, and move throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted and up to 80 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support and oversight for the Parking & Shuttle Guide team, in partnership with and in the absence of the Base Operations Manager.
• Foster crew morale and camaraderie and encourage pride in the work.
• Support a guest-service-focused team culture and reinforce Big Sky Resort’s three pillars: Do your best, Do what is right, and Treat others as you would like to be treated.
• Set a welcoming tone in guest interactions and help resolve guest questions, concerns, or frustrations with patience and a solutions-first approach.
• Model and coach the team in anticipating guest needs and creating positive guest experiences.
• Help oversee parking and shuttle services, grounds maintenance, facility snow removal, equipment operations, and the paid parking and drop-off lot.
• Support scheduling and coverage across the Big Sky Resort Base and Madison Base locations.
• Coordinate with other departments, including ski patrol, lift operations, and events, as needed.
