About The Position

The Bartender at Poets Modern Cocktail & Eats maintains bar supplies and prepares daily requisitions as needed. The role requires familiarity with liquor, drink recipes and prices, appropriate glassware, garnishes, and available beverages. The Bartender handles guest drink charges and payments accurately, follows cash-handling, discounting, register or MICROS, bank, and tip procedures, and works to provide positive guest experiences. The position also requires formal liquor-liability training within 30 days of employment and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bar supplies and prepare daily requisitions as necessary.
• Know liquor varieties, drink recipes and prices, appropriate glassware, garnishes, and available beverages.
• Follow cash-handling procedures, including discounting, MICROS or register use, bank procedures, and tip policies.
• Accurately charge guests for drinks and handle all monies received.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, acknowledge guests, and maintain positive guest relations.
• Resolve guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction in each interaction.
• Complete formal liquor-liability training within 30 days of employment and every two years thereafter.
