About The Position

The Bartender at Poets Modern Cocktail & Eats maintains bar supplies, prepares daily requisitions as needed, and serves guests accurately and efficiently. The role requires familiarity with liquor, drink recipes and prices, appropriate glassware, garnishes, and the beverages available. The Bartender follows cash-handling, discounting, register or MICROS, bank, and tip procedures, and accurately charges guests and handles monies. The position also focuses on anticipating guest needs, responding promptly, maintaining positive guest relations, and resolving complaints to ensure guest satisfaction. Formal liquor-liability training is required within 30 days of employment and every two years thereafter. Starting pay is $10.

• Know the kinds of liquor, drink recipes and prices, appropriate glassware, garnishes, and beverages available.
• Follow accurate cash-handling procedures, including discounting, MICROS or register use, bank procedures, and tip policies.
• Accurately charge guests for drinks and handle all monies.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, acknowledge guests, and maintain positive guest relations.
• Resolve guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Complete formal liquor-liability training within 30 days of employment and every two years thereafter.
