About The Position

The Bartender at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge provides beverage and meal service in a professional, safe, and pleasant manner while delivering excellent customer service and meeting guests’ needs. The role includes bartending, creating specialty cocktails, assisting with alcohol selection and ordering, and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the lounge and bar. The Bartender may also assist with serving duties and special events as needed. The position involves preparing facilities for daily operations, supporting guest satisfaction in coordination with other departments, and sharing information about daily activities, local services, and safety procedures. Additional duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Provide beverage and meal service professionally, safely, and pleasantly.
Deliver excellent customer service to guests and team members; handle comments, complaints, and concerns efficiently and in the guest’s best interest.
Prepare facilities for daily operations and perform bartending duties, including creating specialty cocktails.
Assist with selection and ordering of alcohol and take daily or weekly alcohol inventory.
Maintain cleanliness of the lounge and bar, including emptying trash, sweeping, washing windows, and cleaning restrooms as needed.
Ensure glassware is clean, polished, and ready for service.
Follow proper pouring guidelines.
Work with other departments to support overall guest satisfaction.
Stay informed about daily functions and activities on site and in the area to answer guests’ questions.
Familiarize guests with local activities and services, including safety procedures.
Inform the Supervisor of additional needs and report safety issues immediately.
Assist with serving duties and special events as needed.
Set up and prepare the dining area and lounge/bar area for service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
