About The Position
The Bartender at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge provides beverage and meal service in a professional, safe, and pleasant manner while delivering excellent customer service and following establishment guidelines. The role includes bartending, preparing specialty cocktails, assisting with alcohol selection and ordering, maintaining the lounge and bar, and occasionally helping with serving duties and special events. The bartender prepares facilities for daily operations, supports guest satisfaction through communication and coordination with other departments, and answers guest questions about daily activities, local services, and safety procedures. The position also includes inventory, maintaining service-ready glassware, and cleaning dining, lounge, and bar areas. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, safe, and pleasant beverage and meal service while meeting guests’ needs and following establishment guidelines.
- Prepare specialty cocktails and assist with selection and ordering of alcohol.
- Prepare facilities for daily operations and attend to multiple tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests and team members; handle comments, complaints, and concerns efficiently and in the guest’s best interest.
- Make sound judgments and anticipate issues and opportunities.
- Work with other departments to support overall guest satisfaction.
- Stay informed about daily functions and activities onsite and in the area to answer guests’ questions.
- Familiarize guests with local activities and services, including safety procedures.
- Follow proper pouring guidelines.
- Take daily or weekly inventory of alcohol and inform the Supervisor of additional needs.
- Ensure glassware is clean, shined, and ready for service.
- Report safety issues immediately to the Supervisor.
- Provide food and beverage service, including setting and preparing the dining area.
- Maintain lounge and bar cleanliness by emptying trash, sweeping, washing windows, and cleaning restrooms as needed.
- Help with serving duties and special events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
