About The Position

This position operates a small full-service bar, mixing and serving a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The role involves recording sales, making change or preparing charge slips, and maintaining cleanliness of the bar, utensils, equipment, and work area. The bartender is also responsible for keeping records of beverage quantities dispensed, submitting restocking requirements, and using tact and courtesy to deny further sales to unruly or intoxicated individuals.

Requirements

  • Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic at the time of appointment.
  • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Must be 18 years of age at time of appointment.

  • Ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a small full-service bar, mixing and serving a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Records sales and makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Keeps bar, utensils, equipment and work area clean and sanitary.
  • Keeps records of quantities of beverages dispensed and submits requirement for re-stocking to supervisor.
  • Uses tact and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated.
  • Ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff.
