About The Position

The Westin Tempe is hiring a part-time SkySill Lounge Bartender to serve food and beverages to guests around the rooftop pool and cabanas. The role involves providing friendly, courteous, timely, and professional service to support a high level of guest satisfaction. Bartenders answer menu-related questions, prepare drinks for servers, provide hospitality, and handle cashier duties for the lounge. The position requires availability for AM and PM shifts, including weekends and holidays, and involves working outdoors.

Requirements

Ability to communicate in English and communicate effectively with guests.
Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
Professional appearance and manner at all times.
Willingness to pitch in and work as a team player.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
Basic mathematical skills for operating a cash register, making change, totaling guest checks and charges, counting the bank, preparing cash drops, and understanding portion sizes.
Manual dexterity to prepare garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
Strength to lift, load, and transport products weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
Ability to operate a keyboard and point-of-sale procedures to pre-check orders and close out checks.
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
Availability for AM and PM shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Serve food and beverages to guests at the rooftop pool and cabanas.
Answer guest questions about menu items and promote the menu.
Prepare drinks for servers.
Provide friendly, courteous, timely, and professional hospitality.
Handle lounge cashier duties, including operating the register and point-of-sale system, making change, totaling checks and charges, counting the bank, and preparing cash drops.
Maintain professional appearance and conduct, and treat guests and associates with courtesy and respect.
Work cooperatively with coworkers and help with their duties as needed.
Follow hotel safety and security policies, including key controls, safe lifting, chemical use, and reporting hazards or concerns.
Maintain work habits that meet hotel standards for procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality, and attendance; adapt to changes and seek help when needed.
