About The Position

Prepares and serves beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. This position is based at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Full-time and part-time schedules are available; days and hours may vary, with further details provided during the interview. Event-serving and bartending experience are required. The role may have periods without work during educational facility breaks, which may be unpaid; depending on business needs, associates may be asked to work year-round, potentially at a different location during breaks.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Follow state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, including rules for serving minors and intoxicated guests.
Set up assigned bars and requisition and stock beverages, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce.
Maintain stock and prepare, cure, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to preserve product quality.
Greet guests courteously and in a friendly manner.
Take and/or process drink orders; mix, garnish, and present drinks according to standard recipes while practicing prudent portion control.
Check bar guests for proper identification and detect and respond to guest inebriation as trained.
Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
Receive cash, make change, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly completed.
Lock up and store beverage products, food, equipment, deposits, and cash drops; secure the bank.
Perform general cleaning to meet health and safety standards and keep the work area clean and organized.
Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive bar display.
Wash and sterilize stemware.
Perform other duties as assigned.
