About The Position

The Bar Apprentice provides excellent service to guests who approach the bar, keeps the bar area clean and stocked, and assists the Bartender with various duties. The role is based at Montecristo Cigar Bar at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and involves serving guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with constant public interaction. The apprentice must be comfortable appearing on television or being filmed while performing day-to-day duties, interacting professionally with high-profile guests and celebrities, and tolerating secondary tobacco smoke.

Requirements

• Knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English in a professional manner.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Ability to interact with customers, the public, and coworkers.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to accurately count money and provide change.
• Schedule flexibility, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment involving constant public interaction.
• Ability to stand, walk, and repeatedly lift a minimum of 15–20 pounds.
• Ability to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to guests who approach the bar.
• Keep the bar area clean and stocked, and assist the Bartender with various duties.
• Be willing and able to appear on television or be filmed while performing day-to-day job functions.
• Interact with high-profile guests and celebrities while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Greet and welcome guests in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Provide accurate information about venues, menus, and pricing as a brand advocate.
• Clean the bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, refrigerators, and other bar appliances.
• Acknowledge, greet, and converse with customers who approach the bar.
• Prepare and pour drinks for customers and cocktail servers upon request, provided they have a Union Pour Card.
• Process cash transactions accurately, make necessary change, and present customers with bar receipts.
• Convert cash to coins for customers playing slot machines in the bar area.
• Follow the Cash Handling Policy and never work out of another person’s cash drawer.
