About The Position

The Bloomingdale’s Barista/Café Associate creates and sells Colada Shop beverages according to Colada Shop standards, providing caring hospitality, product knowledge, and exceptional customer service. The role involves preparing and presenting food and beverages, maintaining work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards, and supporting product presentation and customer experience. The position is part time at Bloomie's Old Orchard.

Requirements

No education or experience is required.
Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to move and stand for prolonged periods of at least two consecutive hours.
May need to reach above eye level and crouch.
Frequent use of computers, handheld equipment, and a cash register, including processing register transactions.
Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate current working knowledge of beverages, the coffee/espresso bar, and retail and food stations.
Prepare and present freshly made products according to Colada Shop recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in compliance with company expectations.
Follow Service Steps and selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate customers about distinctive food and beverage products, provide samples, and serve products.
Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty.
Maintain stock levels and meet standards for product presentation, merchandising, and signage.
