About The Position

The Barista makes and serves coffee and espresso drinks, along with related food and beverage items. The role follows HACCP guidelines and food-service quality standards, maintains clean and orderly service areas and equipment, and provides friendly, courteous, prompt service to customers. The Barista also explains menu items, supports customer purchasing decisions, and presents food and display items according to established standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
Enter orders accurately into a POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining a clean service area.
Ensure proper presentation, portion control, serving temperatures, and adherence to HACCP standards.
Maintain the sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
Greet customers courteously, interact to ensure satisfaction, and relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with purchasing decisions.
Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
