About The Position

The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items for customers and catering. The role handles food according to HACCP guidelines and food-service quality standards, and interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly, courteous manner. The position is based in Seattle, Washington, and offers a full-time Monday-through-Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The fixed pay rate is $30.30 per hour. A valid Food Handler's permit is required.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Food Handler's permit.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into the POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining a clean service area.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greet customers courteously and interact with them to support customer satisfaction; relay relevant concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
• Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
• Use selling techniques and good communication to assist customers with buying decisions.
• Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including required protective equipment and safe lifting practices.
