About The Position

A Barista creates and serves specialty hot and cold beverages according to Eataly’s recipes and guests’ special requests. The role requires knowledge of coffee menu items, high-quality and fast-paced guest service, and the ability to work at multiple quick-service restaurant (QSR) counters and perform various functions. The position reports to the QSR General Manager and QSR Assistant General Managers. The Barista prepares and serves authentic Italian espresso, coffee, and other café drinks; provides guests with service and product details; sets up stations and replenishes displays while separating allergens; ensures items are dated and follow FIFO standards; weighs, grinds, or packs coffee beans to guest specifications; and operates the POS system accurately. The role also includes cleaning and sanitizing work areas, serving at other QSR counters with pastries, gelato, pizza, and other Italian delicacies, maintaining composure during busy periods, and performing other assigned duties. This is an onsite role with a flexible schedule that often includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends. The posted hourly rate is $19.00 plus tips; the posting also lists a base pay range of $15–$17 per hour plus tips.

Requirements

Knowledge of and enthusiasm for coffee, tea, drink preparation, and related products.
Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow production directions.
Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to maintain well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
Ability to operate a manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer, and Point of Sale equipment.
Dexterity for rapid and consistent espresso creation.
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination must be provided upon hire.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of barista experience using a manual espresso machine.
High school diploma.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve authentic Italian espresso, coffee, and other café drinks at multiple counters.
Provide exceptional guest service and describe products, including coffee blends and preparation methods.
Set up stations and replenish displays neatly, separating allergens such as nuts and wheat.
Ensure items are dated and follow First In, First Out (FIFO) standards.
Weigh, grind, or pack coffee beans according to guest specifications.
Operate the Point of Sales (POS) system and ensure accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of bills.
Clean and sanitize work areas in accordance with the supervising health agency’s requirements.
Work across QSR counters serving pastries, gelato, pizza, and other Italian delicacies.
Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
