About The Position

The Barista creates a positive experience for customers by providing quality beverages and food products, quick service, and a fun, memorable experience. The role involves welcoming guests, taking and preparing orders, handling payments, maintaining the store, and following brand and HMSHost standards and procedures. Baristas are expected to provide legendary service and help keep operations running smoothly, including during busy periods.

Requirements

Strong social skills and enjoyment of meeting new people.
Ability to stay calm and work in a fast-paced, exciting environment.
Willingness to learn and ability to pick up new skills quickly.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, policies, and rules, and to request assistance when needed.
Ability to perform basic math to count money accurately and make change.
Ability to work well with others and contribute to a cooperative team.

Responsibilities

Greet guests, take food and drink orders, answer questions, call guests by name, and thank them for their orders.
Prepare and serve quality beverages and food consistently according to recipe and presentation standards.
Remain calm during high-volume periods and set a positive example for the team.
Operate a cash register and accept guest payments in accordance with brand and HMSHost customer-service and cash-handling policies.
Keep the store clean, stocked, and organized, and decorate customer display areas.
Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge while supporting the brand’s and HMSHost’s culture, values, and mission.
Follow operational policies and procedures, including safety and security requirements.
