About The Position

The Barista prepares coffee and espresso beverages to standardized recipes, prepares breakfast sandwiches and pastries using appropriate equipment, processes orders and payments, and provides attentive, accurate guest service. The role includes opening and closing duties, stocking and maintaining work areas, keeping the coffee bar and guest-facing areas clean, and following company, safety, and security standards. The position also includes cashier reconciliation and reporting, assisting guests on the sales floor, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting confidential information and company assets, and overseeing operational, financial, and developmental training for staff. Work may take place indoors and outdoors and may involve standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.

Requirements

Two years of hospitality and barista experience, with a customer-service focus.
Food, alcohol, and safety certifications required under Florida regulations.
Experience handling cash.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and perform in a busy work environment.
Ability to read safety procedures and operating guidelines.
Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Proficiency with standard industry computer systems, including POS, work order, and inventory systems.
Ability to safely lift, pull, and push up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach.

Responsibilities

Complete opening and closing duties, including preparing supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors.
Set up, stock, and maintain work areas.
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
Enter orders into the cash register system and collect customer payments.
Assist guests on the sales floor with questions and locating products.
Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests.
Communicate clearly and professionally with others.
Prepare coffee and espresso beverages according to standardized recipes.
Prepare breakfast sandwiches and pastries with the proper equipment.
Ensure guest service and order accuracy, and meet quality expectations and standards.
Count the bank at the end of the shift, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, submit receipts, and secure the bank.
Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar and guest-facing areas.
Follow company, safety, and security policies and procedures, and complete required safety training and certifications.
Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance; protect confidential information and company assets.
Oversee operational, financial, and developmental training for staff.
Contribute to a positive, guest-focused environment.
