About The Position

Baristas take customer orders and prepare coffee, tea, and other drinks to customer specifications. They also operate cash registers and credit card machines. The role focuses on providing outstanding customer service, maintaining product and presentation standards, and keeping the workspace clean and organized while following Starbucks and property policies and procedures. Baristas must maintain a calm demeanor during busy or unusual periods and work collaboratively with the shift team.

Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Ability to reach, turn, and perform precision work constantly.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Multitask and prioritize to ensure outstanding service.
• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with hotel standards and scheduling needs.
• Must be available to work some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a calm demeanor during busy periods or unusual events and set a positive example for the shift team.
• Anticipate customer and store needs by evaluating the environment and customer cues.
• Communicate information to the manager so the team can respond and create a warm, welcoming environment.
• Assist with training new partners by reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful, encouraging coaching.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by connecting with customers, discovering their needs, and responding to them.
• Follow Starbucks and property operational policies and procedures, including cash-handling, safety, and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace so associates can locate resources and products.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Prepare quality beverages, whole bean, and food products according to recipe and presentation standards.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Attend hotel-required meetings and trainings.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance, uniform, and grooming.
• Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
