About The Position
The Barista Shift Supervisor directs associates’ activities during an assigned shift and oversees completion of job expectations while ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The role includes barista and hospitality work at the Genentech location in South San Francisco, California. The position is full time, Monday through Friday, with one of several listed schedules: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, or 1:30 PM–7:00 PM. Further schedule details are provided during the interview. Pay is $27.00–$30.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Previous food preparation experience is required.
- Previous hospitality experience is required.
- Previous beer and wine service experience is required.
- Excellent specialty coffee knowledge is required.
Responsibilities
- Direct associates’ activities during a specific shift and oversee completion of assigned job expectations while maintaining policy and procedure.
- Provide training and create work schedules.
- Evaluate workers’ performance, reward high performers, and discipline employees who fail to meet reasonable work-performance standards.
- Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure the unit meets expectations for quality, productivity, and safety.
- Act as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
- May mentor and develop employees and encourage them to set goals and seek advancement within the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
