About The Position
Navy Exchange Bangor in Silverdale, Washington, is hiring a Barber to provide hair care services to military patrons and their families. Services include shampooing, conditioning, and cutting hair in styles suited to clients. The Barber is expected to uphold courtesy and customer-service policies and support the Navy Exchange’s daily operations. The Navy Exchange provides and maintains the barber stations, chairs, vacuums, drapes, and smocks. Booth rental and back-bar or styling-product costs are not required. Applicants must have military base access or be a U.S. citizen, and must pass an employment criminal background check.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of barber culture or cosmetology.
- Possess a valid state license in barbering or cosmetology.
- Candidates hired with a cosmetology license from a state other than the state where the position is located must obtain a valid license in barbering or cosmetology in the position’s state within six months of hire.
- Pass an employment criminal background check.
- Have military base access or be a U.S. citizen.
- Meet the physical requirements, including continual use of both arms and legs, frequent standing, reaching and light lifting, and dexterity in applying manual techniques.
