About The Position

The Navy Exchange Service Command is hiring a full-time Janitor at The Navy Inn in Lemoore, California. The Janitor supports Navy lodging operations by keeping lodges clean and orderly for military guests and their families. The role requires teamwork, discretion regarding confidential and operationally sensitive matters, and communication with a supervisor about the status of cleaned areas and assignments.

Requirements

At least six months of experience performing cleaning tasks with standard or janitorial cleaning tools or industrial-type cleaning equipment.
Previous experience in a janitorial or similar setting.
Ability to perform moderately heavy physical work, including moving furniture and using hand or industrial-type powered cleaning equipment.
Frequently lift and move objects weighing about 40 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Occasionally move, set up, and work from ladders and scaffolds.

Nice To Haves

Experience with vacuuming, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, washing, moving items, polishing, cleaning, removing debris and trash, and using industrial-type equipment.

Responsibilities

Keep assigned areas clean and orderly.
Communicate the status of cleaned areas and spaces to a supervisor through daily assignments or property management systems.
Sweep and dust assigned areas.
Operate cleaning equipment and inspect equipment.
Complete some maintenance requests for broken, defective, or replacement-needed items.
Maintain the cleanliness, inventory, and organization of cleaning equipment and solutions.
