About The Position

The Barback supports bar operations at Adventureland Park by maintaining supplies, preparing service items, keeping bar areas clean and organized, and helping provide a positive guest experience. The role is based in one or more food-and-beverage or restaurant locations throughout the park and may involve indoor and outdoor work. The Barback works with managers, kitchen staff, security personnel, and guests, and follows applicable health, safety, beverage-service, and TIPS protocols.

This seasonal opportunity requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night hours. No education or previous work experience is required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.

• Must have exceptional customer service skills and be able to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns positively and professionally.

• Must be able to stand, walk, and remain on feet for most of the workday.
• Must be able to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above the shoulders.
• Must be able to withstand heat and humidity from food preparation equipment.
• Must be able to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more.
• Must consistently use hands to grasp, control, and move objects or tools.
• Must be able to use step stools as needed.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Must be Bartender/Server Certified (TIPS) or obtain certification within 30 days of hire when required by state and local guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience serving alcoholic beverages and knowledge of associated regulations.
• Spanish or other bilingual language skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests approaching the bar in a friendly and professional manner.
• Keep the bar stocked with liquor, syrups, glasses, napkins, and other necessary items before and during service.
• Prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, change beer kegs, and restock napkins and straws.
• Store and stock refrigerators, ice machines, cups, straws, napkins, and other service items as needed.
• Understand and comply with state and local health department standards and beverage preparation and serving regulations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow uniform standards.
• Clean spills, remove glassware, and organize the counter.
• Collaborate with managers, kitchen staff, and security personnel to ensure efficient customer service.
• Assist with general bar-area maintenance, including cleaning broken glass and addressing clogged drains.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and help guests understand how items are prepared.
• Follow all bar-related TIPS training protocols.
• Sanitize and clean service areas, bar tops, and surrounding bar areas as needed.
• Assist with to-go orders between the kitchen and guests as needed.
• Promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and emergencies to the appropriate authorities.
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
