About The Position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is hiring a part-time Barback for the Virginia Guesthouse, a 214-room hotel with conference and event space on the Grounds of the University of Virginia. The property is scheduled to open in April 2026. The Barback supports bartenders and servers in providing memorable hospitality by keeping the bar stocked, clean, and organized, maintaining supplies, and assisting with bar setup and daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to learn and grow toward a bartending career.

Requirements

• Have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for guests.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be able to regularly lift and carry 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they arrive or move about the bar area.
• Maintain the proper and adequate daily setup of the bar.
• Assist bartenders in securing requisitioned liquor, beer, and wine.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area and ensure clean glasses are stocked.
• Learn and understand the details of the bar operation.
• Work collaboratively with restaurant servers and kitchen and bar staff.
• Maintain stock and cut and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
