About The Position

The Barback at KYU supports bartenders by ensuring the bar is fully stocked, clean, and organized, allowing for a smooth and efficient beverage service. The Barback is responsible for managing inventory, assisting with drink preparation, and maintaining a clean and orderly bar area. Barbacks at KYU play a crucial role in the bar’s operations, working closely with bartenders and other staff to deliver exceptional service and uphold the restaurant’s high standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role or in a high-volume bar environment.
Basic knowledge of bar operations and equipment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Motivated and self-directed with a willingness to learn and grow.

Nice To Haves

Experience in fine dining or upscale bar settings preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting bartenders with drink preparation and service during peak hours.
Managing and maintaining bar inventory, including restocking supplies and organizing storage areas.
Ensuring the bar area is clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety standards.
Handling glassware, utensils, and other bar equipment, and ensuring they are clean and in good condition.
Removing empty bottles, glasses, and trash from the bar area promptly.
Assisting in setting up and breaking down the bar for service.
Monitoring inventory levels and reporting needs to the Bar Manager.
Collaborating with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Providing support in training new bar staff as needed.
Maintaining a positive and proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
