About The Position

Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is seeking a Banquet Set-Up team member for its Banquets Department. This role is responsible for setting up, breaking down, cleaning, maintaining, and presenting banquet functions, event equipment, and related spaces. Working with the Set-Up Supervisor and Banquet leadership, the team member prepares event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), service agreements, and the resort’s hospitality and service standards. The position involves preparing a variety of room configurations, safely handling and storing equipment, maintaining clean and organized event and storage areas, and servicing active functions. The team member also helps maintain a safe environment, assists guests courteously, and reports equipment or maintenance concerns to the appropriate team members. The schedule may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English sufficiently to communicate effectively with guests, members, clients, and team members.
Valid Florida driver's license.
Knowledge of guest service principles, professional courtesy, and positive guest relations.
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 pounds, including furniture, tables, chairs, glassware, dishware, ice, and banquet equipment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
Ability to safely handle banquet equipment and maintain organized event and storage areas.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality event execution.

Responsibilities

Set up and break down banquet functions according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Service Agreements.
Prepare a variety of event configurations, including classroom, theater, conference, U-shape, hollow square, hollow rectangle, T-shape, E-shape, dining, and coffee break layouts.
Learn and maintain familiarity with function rooms, event spaces, and banquet support areas.
Safely handle, transport, care for, and store banquet equipment.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of function rooms, storage areas, and banquet workspaces, including periodic deep cleaning as assigned.
Return equipment to designated storage locations in clean and organized condition.
Inspect equipment before use and report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning items promptly.
Check that electrical connections function properly and secure exposed cords to support safety.
Service and refresh active functions, monitoring room temperature, lighting, and overall appearance.
Coordinate with Maintenance when repairs or adjustments are needed.
Assist guests courteously and refer requests outside assigned authority to a supervisor.
Identify and report safety hazards and help maintain a safe working environment.
Report on time in proper uniform and maintain professional appearance standards.
Attend required training, safety programs, departmental meetings, and team communications.
Clock in and report to the Set-Up Supervisor or Manager at the start of the shift, and communicate with a Supervisor before clocking out.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Banquet leadership.
