About The Position

The Banquet Server ensures quality customer service to guests during events and banquets. The role involves setting up assigned tables and serving food and beverages according to hotel specifications and group requirements, while maintaining clean and orderly work areas and equipment. This is a part-time to on-call position.

Requirements

Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and coworkers so they understand.
Meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
ServSafe and/or food safety training.
Alcohol awareness training, such as TIPS.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in banquet operations and/or hospitality.
Some college education.
Bilingual English/Spanish ability.
Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.

Responsibilities

Set up assigned tables for events and banquets.
Greet arriving guests and assist with seating.
Take and retrieve alcoholic beverage orders, using suggestive selling techniques when specified by function requirements.
Serve food courses and non-alcoholic beverages according to departmental standards and function requirements.
Retrieve and serve beverages and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications and group requirements.
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and maintain positive guest relations.
Be familiar with hotel services and features and local attractions and activities to answer guest inquiries accurately.
Handle guest complaints and work to ensure guest satisfaction.
Maintain food and beverage safety and quality in accordance with hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned stations and service areas, including work areas and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
