About The Position

Equity Bank is hiring a full-time, hourly Bank Teller in Wichita, Kansas. The position focuses on building and sustaining client relationships, identifying clients’ financial needs, recommending appropriate bank products and services, and delivering a consistently superior client experience. The teller performs client transactions, responds to routine inquiries, helps resolve issues, and supports bank operations, including opening or closing as directed. The role also requires following applicable banking laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including those related to ethics, the Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, information security, and suspicious activity reporting. Required training during the first week of employment takes place in Wichita, Kansas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Computer proficiency in Windows-based systems.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work with a team to determine solutions.
Ability to travel to Wichita, Kansas, during the first week of employment for required week-long training.

Responsibilities

Build trust and credibility through professional conversations with clients.
Identify key life events and determine whether bank products and services meet clients’ financial needs.
Recommend and provide accounts, loans, and services appropriate to clients’ needs.
Promote bank products and services inside and outside the bank.
Make proactive referrals to bank partners that may generate additional revenue.
Demonstrate operational soundness, minimize risk exposure or loss, maintain quality production, and follow operating procedures and protocols.
Provide excellent customer service and help create a welcoming, engaging, professional environment for clients.
Proactively resolve client issues in the absence of or as directed by the Bank Manager.
Respond to routine client inquiries and requests.
Perform teller duties and process client transactions as needed.
Approve transactions for other employees within the assigned authority limit.
Assist with bank opening and/or closing as directed.
Understand and follow applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including business ethics, Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, information security, and suspicious activity reporting requirements.
Follow deposit account opening procedures and internal suspicious activity referral processes, as appropriate for the position.
Work with clients to understand their normal account activity, as appropriate for the position.
Complete periodic compliance training.
