About The Position
Peoples Bank, a division of Cornerstone Capital Bank, is seeking a full-time Teller to support its community banking team. The teller provides customer service, processes banking transactions accurately and efficiently, balances a teller drawer daily, and assists customers with debit cards and digital banking. The role also involves answering phones, providing general financial services information, and compiling and entering documentation for stop payments and account closings. The position works under direct supervision, handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills.
- 0–2 years of direct experience as a teller or in a similar financial services position.
- Cash-handling experience.
- Intermediate Excel skills at minimum.
- Self-starter with problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, positive customer service by listening to and connecting with customers.
- Process customer transactions quickly and accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, general ledger tickets, wire originations, cashier’s checks, and savings bonds.
- Balance the teller drawer daily.
- Assist customers with debit card maintenance and create and print debit cards.
- Assist customers with digital banking needs, answer phones, and provide general financial services information.
- Compile information and documentation for stop payments and account closings, and enter the information into the system.
- Act in accordance with applicable banking and regulatory requirements.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
