About The Position

NBCUniversal is seeking a Band Assistant to support the band leader with various tasks. This role involves serving as a primary liaison between staff and the band leader, assisting the band during remote shoots and road shows, and managing setlist distribution and dissemination of important information like schedule changes and taping dates. The Band Assistant will also work with NBC music licensing for music clearance, coordinate with the audio engineer, and oversee interns on various tasks. Key responsibilities include submitting daily music cues, monitoring the show for music cue changes, handling Roots paperwork, delegating casting paperwork, submitting weekly band attendance, submitting expenses for transportation, coordinating with stage managers, and booking travel for band members.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum 1 year experience supporting high level Executive in Television Entertainment or equivalent production experience
Must be proficient on Mac
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Flexible, personable, self-starter, with attention to detail and the ability to interface with all levels of NBCU staff and show crew.
Production experience a plus

Responsibilities

Assist band leader with all tasks.
Serve as primary liaison between staff and band leader.
Assist band during remote shoots and road shows.
Distribute setlist for each show on a daily basis.
Disseminate important information to the band, such as schedule changes and taping dates.
Work with NBC music licensing for all music clearance needs.
Coordinate with audio engineer regarding lyric needs or other tasks.
Assist band in various tasks and oversee interns on runs.
Submit daily music cues to music department and help oversee interns with music cue sheets.
Monitor the show for music cue changes by checking in with writers and segment producers.
Handle Roots paperwork.
Delegate casting paperwork.
Submit band attendance weekly.
Submit expenses on behalf of The Roots for transportation.
Coordinate with stage managers to wrangle band members.
Coordinate travel on remote shoots and road shows.
Book transportation for band members.
