Baking Team Member - Entry Level
About The Position
Annie's Bakery is seeking a dependable and hardworking entry-level Baking Team Member for its production team in Asheville, North Carolina. The role involves hands-on, physically active work producing breads, rolls, buns, and other bakery products. Previous bakery experience is not required; the bakery will train a candidate with a strong work ethic, reliability, and interest in learning commercial baking. The work is fast-paced and requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to food safety and product quality. The schedule is approximately 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, providing a four-day work week.
Requirements
- Reliable attendance and punctuality; early morning availability is required.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Willingness and ability to learn.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and production procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
Nice To Haves
- Food handling, foodservice, restaurant, or food manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Bakery experience is helpful but not required.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and GMPs is a plus.
- Experience in manufacturing, production, kitchen, warehouse, or other physically active work environments can be helpful.
Responsibilities
- Assist with mixing, shaping, baking, and other bread production tasks.
- Measure and handle ingredients according to recipes and production procedures.
- Operate bakery equipment after proper training.
- Monitor products for quality and consistency.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, GMP, and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with cleaning equipment and production areas.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the production team.
- Assist with other bakery production tasks as needed.
