Bakery Team Lead
About The Position
The Bakery Team Lead oversees the store’s bakery operation to achieve budgeted financial objectives and departmental product quality and presentation standards, supporting sales opportunities. The role ensures compliance with corporate and state sanitation procedures and regulations, supervises and directs Bakery personnel, and provides fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to Price Chopper customers. The Team Lead manages day-to-day department operations, including staffing and scheduling, staff hiring, training, and development, and monitoring employee performance and adherence to company policies. The role also monitors departmental financial results and ensures bakery products are properly stocked, rotated, displayed, and signed in accordance with company standards and applicable laws.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
- Satisfactory performance reviews.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bakery department operations.
- Supervise department staff and schedule and staff the department to meet business needs.
- Ensure associates follow applicable Federal and State laws and company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hire, train, and develop departmental staff; document performance issues and recommend disciplinary actions as needed.
- Ensure associates follow the company dress code, provide fast, friendly, and efficient customer service, exhibit C.H.O.P.S. behaviors, and adhere to 5S standards and the corporate code of conduct.
- Monitor, control, and achieve established departmental financial results, including payroll, sales, gross profit, CTO, shrink, and inventory levels.
- Ensure department products are merchandised according to corporate planograms and special programs.
- Maintain appropriate shelf and display conditions, stock levels—especially for sale items—and product rotation.
- Maintain knowledge of department products to assist customers.
- Ensure department signing complies with corporate, Federal, and State policies and regulations.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management and adhere to company policies and procedures.
