Bakery Clerk TFM
About The Position
As a Bakery Clerk at Tony's Fresh Market, LLC, you provide product suggestions and help customers with questions and special orders. You stock display cases and keep a variety of high-quality bakery items available. You follow food safety and sanitation requirements, and periodically clean and sanitize bakery department areas, preparation areas, and equipment. Cake decorating or baking duties may be performed only after you are fully trained and approved. This role involves customer service in a fast-paced retail environment and requires adapting to a cooler-than-normal department temperature. The physical demands include standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking around the store, with minimal sitting. The work environment is typical of a retail store, with noise ranging from quiet to loud.

- Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
- Be able to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
- Be comfortable working in the cooler-than-normal temperature of the Bakery department.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and build rapport.
- Display a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
- Respond effectively to customer questions.
- Stock products and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
- Perform basic department cleaning upkeep.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, dating, and handling of baked goods.
- Sort baked goods from the oven when needed.
- Fill product orders on the sales floor.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required; cake decorating or baking duties require full training and approval.
