About The Position
The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous customer service and assists customers with product selections, including suggestive selling. The role processes incoming bakery products from the bakery plant and direct-store-delivery vendors; packages fresh-baked products; slices and wraps bread; stocks and rotates products; and maintains neat displays. The clerk also prepares outdated products for thrift stores, orders decorated cakes from the bakery plant, and bakes cookies. Work areas and equipment must be cleaned regularly in accordance with company safety and sanitation procedures. Training is provided at the store level. Other duties may be assigned at store management’s discretion. Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work on feet for an entire shift of 4–8 hours.
- The position involves bending and stooping.
- Internal store/facility candidates: a minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred; candidates must be in good standing, and interview invitations require manager approval based on performance.
- Internal Store Support Center candidates: a minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred; candidates must be in good standing, and interview invitations require manager approval based on performance.
Responsibilities

- Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties assigned at the discretion of store management.
