About The Position
85°C Bakery Cafe is hiring a Bakery Associate for its San Leandro storefront. Associates provide exceptional customer service, attend to guests’ individual needs, and work with the store management team and fellow employees to create an uplifting atmosphere. Storefront duties may include baking bread, decorating cakes, making drinks, and operating the point-of-sale system. Associates are expected to follow directions, arrive on time for scheduled shifts, and comply with company policies and guidelines. Employees cross-train in the Bread, Cake, POS, and Bar departments. The position is listed as full-time or part-time, with at least 20 hours of availability per week and weekend availability required; holiday availability is strongly preferred. The role involves moderate physical activity and potential exposure to cold coolers and freezers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or higher.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Available to work at least 20 hours per week.
- Weekend availability required; holiday availability strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Acceptable verbal English communication skills.
- Excellent work ethic and teamwork skills.
- ServSafe certification.
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, nearly continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead.
- Ability to work around unusual elements, including extreme temperatures in coolers and freezers.
