BAKER (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Fresh Ideas Management is hiring a full-time Baker at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois. The position prepares baked goods according to recipes and production specifications, including breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries. The Baker assists with production planning, follows food preparation and presentation standards, maintains food quality and portion control, and keeps equipment and work areas clean and orderly. The position also involves customer interaction and completing assigned shift work. The fixed pay rate is $20.00 per hour. Full-time schedule; days and hours may vary, including PM shifts and weekends. Further schedule details are provided at interview. Prior bakery experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries according to production and catering sheets, and assist with production planning to meet daily requirements.
- Prepare food using approved recipes, prescribed production standards, and proper equipment.
- Assist with production records, including waste tracking, used and unused portions, and product shortages; notify the supervisor when supplies are low.
- Maintain proper presentation, food quality, portion control, and serving temperatures.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils in the work area.
- Handle food appropriately and follow safety regulations during preparation and service.
- Clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area, and keep display equipment clean and free of debris.
- Interact with customers and address complaints in a friendly, customer-service-oriented manner; relay relevant concerns to supervisors.
- Keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately, and efficiently.
- Ensure food is presented, served, and displayed according to standards.
- Follow sanitation and safety principles for food and equipment, including corporate and OSHA safety standards.
- Complete assigned shift work in a timely and thorough manner according to department standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
