About The Position

CulinArt is hiring full-time and part-time Bakers at Rumsey Hall School in Washington Depot, Connecticut. The Baker prepares baked goods according to recipes and production specifications, including breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries. The role also assists with production planning, maintains food quality and presentation standards, follows food-safety and sanitation requirements, and provides customer service. Schedules are flexible, with days and hours varying; further schedule details are provided during the interview.

Requirements

Five years of baking experience.
Previous baking and pastry experience.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries according to production and catering sheets, and assist with production planning to meet daily requirements.
Prepare food using approved recipes, prescribed production standards, and appropriate equipment.
Assist with production records, including waste tracking, used and unused portions, and product shortages; notify the supervisor when supplies are low.
Maintain proper presentation, food quality, portion control, and serving temperatures.
Keep equipment, supplies, utensils, and the work area sanitary and orderly.
Handle food safely and in accordance with applicable regulations during preparation and service.
Clean equipment and the workstation before moving to other assignments, and keep display equipment clean and free of debris.
Interact with customers, handle complaints in a friendly and customer-service-oriented manner, and relay relevant concerns to supervisors.
Work calmly, accurately, and efficiently during peak production and service periods.
Check that food is presented, served, and displayed according to standards.
Follow food sanitation and safety principles and corporate and OSHA safety standards.
Complete assigned shift work promptly and thoroughly in accordance with department standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
