Baker and Packager Associate - New Location: Katy, TX
About The Position
As a Baker and Packager Associate at Sam’s Club’s new Katy, Texas club, you will help establish the bakery and create a fresh, high-quality experience for members. You will prepare baked goods according to recipes, make-up instructions, daily production needs, and company standards, then wrap, label, and store merchandise to preserve freshness and meet food safety requirements. The role supports a high-volume bakery and includes maintaining quality and date controls, reducing waste, and handling fragile or high-shrink merchandise securely. You will assist members with bakery orders and provide friendly, knowledgeable service across the club as needed. You will keep work areas and displays clean, organized, and stocked; operate, maintain, and sanitize baking equipment; and use handheld technology for production planning, inventory, and ordering decisions. Associates work collaboratively and may need to support other areas. The position requires working in a fast-paced setting, standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities
- Prepare bakery merchandise based on daily production needs, following recipes, make-up instructions, and company standards.
- Wrap, label, and store merchandise to maintain freshness, food safety, and Cold Chain compliance.
- Maintain quality and date-control standards, eliminate waste, and secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
- Use handheld technology to support production planning, inventory, and ordering decisions.
- Assist members with bakery orders and provide friendly, knowledgeable service across the club as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked work areas and displays.
- Operate, maintain, and sanitize baking equipment safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with associates to keep the bakery running smoothly and support other areas as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude by smiling, greeting, and thanking members.
- Answer members’ questions and provide exceptional customer service as needed.
