About The Position

The Bag Runner provides behind-the-counter baggage services, including handling and transferring baggage, moving oversized items, and assisting with passenger luggage processing and transport. The role delivers services to client airlines and airports according to contractual requirements and agreed budget levels. Employees follow customer-service training and must be familiar with counter-management procedures, aviation safety, security procedures, and workplace safety procedures. Training is provided. Other duties may be assigned. The position requires schedule flexibility for weekends, holidays, and night shifts, and successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including those needed to obtain an Airport ID with a seal, a drug test, and a TSA fingerprint background check. Travel is negligible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of aviation experience.
• Ability to lift approximately 70 pounds or more.
• Ability to stand, lift, bend, push, and pull for extended periods.
• Ability to maintain professional customer service under pressure and in stressful environments.
• Ability to read an airline boarding pass.
• Professional appearance and manners when interacting with passengers and others at the airport.
• Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements and requirements for obtaining an Airport ID with a seal.
• Ability to pass a drug test and TSA fingerprint background check.
• Ability to speak and be understood, hear, and comprehend English.
• Ability to stand for long periods and relocate in an emergency.
• Neat and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Handle baggage and transfer baggage and oversized items behind the counter.
• Assist with processing and transporting passenger luggage.
• Provide services to client airlines and airports in accordance with contracts and agreed budget levels.
• Apply customer-service skills provided through training.
• Follow counter-management, aviation safety, security, and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
