About The Position
The Walnut Creek, California office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The practice interprets contracts and represents insurers in complex coverage claims, including monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. The firm represents primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies, across virtually every line of business. The ideal candidate has experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions concerning first-party property and general liability matters, as well as substantive litigation experience. The firm is also interested in developing talented attorneys with excellent litigation skills and a demonstrated interest in insurance law. The role offers an opportunity to join a growing, collaborative firm.
Requirements
- At least eight years of experience; the posting identifies an ideal range of eight to fifteen years analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property and general liability matters.
- Litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Admission to the California Bar is required.
