About The Position

The Orange County, California office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The practice interprets insurance contracts and represents insurers in complex coverage claims, including through monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. The firm represents primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies, across virtually every line of business. The ideal candidate has experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions concerning first-party property and general liability matters, as well as litigation experience. The firm is also interested in talented developing attorneys with substantive litigation experience, an interest in insurance law, and strong skills who seek to work in a growing, collaborative firm.

Requirements

Admission to the California Bar is required.
Eight to fifteen years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property and general liability matters is preferred for the ideal candidate.
Litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
Strong research and writing skills.
Substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in insurance law are suitable for developing talented attorneys.
