About The Position

The San Francisco, California office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The role involves analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions concerning first-party property and general liability matters. The position also includes litigation work, such as taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions. The Insurance Coverage Practice interprets contracts and represents insurers in complex coverage claims, including through monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. The firm represents primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies. Candidates with substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in insurance law are encouraged to apply, including developing attorneys with strong litigation skills. The position is based in the San Francisco office and is identified as hybrid.

Requirements

Eight to fifteen years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property and general liability matters.
Litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
Strong research and writing skills.
Admission to the California Bar.
