About The Position
The Las Vegas, Nevada office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an associate attorney or partner to join its Insurance Bad Faith Practice. Attorneys represent sophisticated national insurance companies in insurance bad faith defense matters involving contract law, tort law, and statutory law. The practice offers civil litigation experience and professional development opportunities. Candidates should bring strong research, writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and must be admitted to the Nevada Bar.
Requirements
- One to seven years of experience in insurance bad faith litigation.
- Experience with civil litigation, including drafting answers, propounding and responding to discovery, motion practice, and deposing witnesses.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Admission to the Nevada Bar.
- Curiosity, hard work, thoughtful analysis, and superb interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Represent national insurance companies in insurance bad faith defense litigation.
- Interpret contracts and statutes and analyze pre-litigation records.
- Draft answers and conduct written discovery, including propounding and responding to discovery.
- Handle motion practice and depose witnesses.
- Communicate with clients and litigate cases using clear, effective writing.
