About The Position

The Backwaiter supports restaurant operations by delivering food to guests promptly and courteously, assisting with dining room cleanliness, and maintaining service stations. Backwaiters provide excellent customer service to help ensure exceptional guest experiences. The position is available in full-time and part-time hourly schedules. No prior experience is required, and training is provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess or obtain a current Food Handler’s Card, where applicable.
• Ability to stand, reach, bend, balance, and repeatedly lift objects up to 30 lbs. during a shift.
• Strong multitasking skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food to guests efficiently and ensure their requests are met.
• Monitor the expo line, run trays of food for dine-in guests, and assist guests with questions.
• Clear and sanitize tables, seating, and floors according to restaurant standards.
• Retrieve and transport dirty dishes to the dishwashing station.
• Restock and clean service stations as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment, including coffee machines, iced tea machines, and POS systems.
• Interact courteously with guests and notify managers of quality or service concerns.
• Follow company policies, dress code, and safety procedures.
• Assist with greeting and seating guests, answering phones, and packaging takeout orders when necessary.
• Assist with beverage preparation and responsible alcohol service when required.
