About The Position

The Backroom Processor / Warehouse Associate works in the Retail department and reports to the Store Manager. The role sorts and inspects products, identifies items and directs them to the appropriate department for processing, and collects and safely transports merchandise from the distribution center. The employee must follow Salvation Army policies and government regulations, maintain confidentiality when needed, and perform additional duties assigned by the Store Manager or a designated representative. Overtime requires written supervisor approval, with the supervisor’s initials recorded on the timecard beside the overtime hours.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competency in the relevant skill area, supported by verifiable training and/or experience.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive-motion tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sort products efficiently and properly according to Salvation Army policy.
• Inspect products for defects and damage as part of quality assurance.
• Identify products correctly and direct them to the proper department for processing.
• Collect merchandise from the distribution center and transport materials safely.
• Follow safety measures established by Salvation Army policy and government regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality as needed for operation of the program.
• Obtain written supervisor approval for any overtime and ensure the supervisor’s initials appear on the timecard beside the overtime hours.
• Perform other written or verbal duties assigned by the Store Manager or their designated representative.
