About The Position

The Backroom Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator organizes truck delivery and merchandise processing, coaches and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and coordinates the efficient flow of goods to the sales floor. The role also maintains backroom organization and safety, supports store programs and goals, and ensures compliance with applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures. This is a full-time position at the HomeGoods store at 782 New River Road, Suite 600, Christiansburg, Virginia. The starting pay range is $14.50 to $15.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and, for some benefits, service or hours requirements.

Requirements

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Execute receiving and merchandising standards and ensure Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team.
Engage and interact with customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and role-model exceptional customer service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy, signage standards, backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Give and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
