About The Position

The 1099-Contract Investigator conducts federal background investigations on a contract basis in support of national security and suitability investigations. The role involves fieldwork, including interviews and retrieval of records, and preparing reports of investigations (ROIs) in compliance with applicable laws, federal standards, and federal agency regulations. Investigators accept fieldwork assignments involving travel throughout their assigned geographic area of responsibility and may have opportunities for temporary duty assignments outside that area. The investigator is expected to meet deadlines assigned by ADC LTD NM, communicate effectively and professionally in a time-sensitive work environment, and handle data and documents appropriately, including monitoring, maintaining, conveying, and destroying them. The role also requires meeting government and industry standards for quality, integrity, timeliness, and productivity; maintaining required training, security, and credentials; building cooperative working relationships with ADC employees and contractors; and reporting field-observed trends and work-environment updates. Other related duties may be assigned. Compensation is based on the number of assigned cases completed, not an annual salary. The stated compensation range is an estimate based on working 40 hours per week, from the base rate up to the Premier Contract Investigator rate.
