About The Position

Capco is seeking an Intermediate Backend Developer (Contract - 6 months) to support a major Financial Services client in delivering vulnerability remediation initiatives across critical applications and platforms. This role combines hands-on backend engineering with cross-functional collaboration, helping delivery teams implement, test, and validate remediation activities that strengthen application security and platform resilience. You will work across development, testing, DevOps, troubleshooting, and production support activities while collaborating closely with engineering teams, security stakeholders, and business partners to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing and supporting backend services, APIs, and distributed applications.
  • Understanding of deployment pipelines, CI/CD processes, testing practices, and release management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Capital Markets, or Payments environments.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, application security, or secure software development practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized environments.
  • Exposure to integration technologies, messaging frameworks, or event-driven architectures.
