Backend, Clearing & Custody

As an experienced Software Engineer at Clear Street, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new features and services for our core Platform for Clearing & Custody. You will work with a team of passionate engineers to tackle complex problems related to processing financial transactions across various asset classes. Your expertise in system design and paradigms will be crucial in ensuring the scalability and efficiency of our platform. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor teammates, define engineering standards, and contribute to our culture of system designs. • Design and implement new features and services for the Clearing & Custody Platform
• Process financial transactions across various asset classes into highly scalable services
• Solve non-trivial problems related to system design and implementation
• Mentor teammates and contribute to evolving technical standards and best practices
• Collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to push the boundaries of financial technology
• Prioritize end user experience in API design, functionality, and performance
• Demonstrate a strong command over design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Communicate technical ideas effectively and collaborate to deliver high-quality products
• Mentor team members, define engineering standards, and drive a system design approach
• Preferred experience with Golang, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes (readiness to learn this stack is required)

• 6+ years of professional experience implementing highly scalable services
• Experience in Golang (Go), Java, or C++
• Contribution to systems that handle massive amounts of data and solve complex business problems
• Strong understanding of system design and paradigms
• Prioritization of end user experience in API design, functionality, and performance
• Proficiency in design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members
• Experience mentoring team members and defining engineering standards
• Familiarity with the Clearing & Custody Team Stack (Golang, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred but not required
