Software Engineer, Backend - Trading Platform (Senior)

Clear Street is seeking a skilled individual to join their team as a Software Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable and reliable microservices for various functions within the Securities Finance business. You will collaborate closely with users and product teams to understand requirements and continuously improve functionality. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the business domain. • Build scalable and reliable microservices for pre-trade, trade management, inventory management, and pricing functions across various Securities Finance businesses
• Work closely with users (traders, customers, counterparties) and product to understand requirements and rapidly iterate on functionality
• Own the system end-to-end, including support and ongoing improvements
• Develop a deep understanding of the business domain
• Build trading platforms for various Securities Finance businesses including Securities Lending, Repo, Agency Lending, and Delta 1
• Have the opportunity to build large scale, sophisticated trading systems on a modern and scalable technology stack from scratch
• Employ a wide variety of technologies including Java/Spring Boot, React, Python, R, Postgres, Kafka, Docker, and container orchestration
• Preferably have experience in Securities Finance
• Preferably have experience in building and rolling out a new product

• 5+ years of experience building microservices in Java/Spring Boot
• Experience with relational databases like Postgres
• Experience with Kafka
• Understanding of Docker and container orchestration
• Experience in Securities Finance preferred but not required
• Experience building and rolling out a new product preferred
