Back Up Nanny
About The Position
Jovie is seeking engaging, creative, fun, and flexible individuals to join their on-call team as a Back Up Nanny in Newcastle, WA. This role is ideal for those with prior experience in childcare, such as babysitting, daycare work, nannying, or church nursery volunteering. It's also a great fit for retired teachers or teaching professionals looking for a smaller environment. The position offers flexibility to accommodate school, family, or other part-time commitments, with full-time positions available. As a back-up nanny, you will provide in-home care for children ranging from infants to toddlers, with a high demand for care for children under two. Your role will involve ensuring children's safety and leading hands-on, age-appropriate activities based on their development. Household duties are limited to cleaning up after your activities or meals with the child, and transportation of children is not required.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Experience working with children, paid or unpaid, infant experience mandatory
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to travel to various homes throughout the area
- Available any 4 or more days for 6 - 8 hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm
- Commitment to be communicative and responsive to the staffing supervisor
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
- Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
- Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations
- May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner

Responsibilities
- Care for children in-home
- Support families who need care for children ranging from infants through toddlers
