About The Position

Jovie is seeking engaging, creative, and fun individuals to join their on-call team as a Back Up Nanny. This flexible position is ideal for those with prior experience in childcare, such as babysitting, daycare work, nannying, or volunteer nursery work. It's also a great opportunity for retired teachers or those seeking a role that accommodates a flexible schedule around school, family, or other part-time commitments. Full-time positions are available in Seattle and the Eastside. As a back-up nanny, you will care for children in their homes, focusing on safety and leading hands-on activities. No household duties beyond cleaning up after your activities with the child are required. The highest demand is for care of children under the age of 2.

Requirements

At least 18 years old
Experience working with children, paid or unpaid
Infant experience mandatory
Reliable transportation
Willingness and ability to travel to various homes throughout the area
Available 4 or more days for 6 - 8 hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm

Nice To Haves

Worked as a babysitter, daycare worker, nanny, or church nursery volunteer
Retired teacher or teaching professional

Responsibilities

Care for children in-home
Support families who need care for children ranging from infants through toddlers
Engage children by providing safety and leading hands-on activities based on your observations of the children’s age-appropriate development
No household duties other than common sense clean-up of your activities or meals with the child
