Back Up Nanny
About The Position
Jovie is seeking engaging, creative, fun, and flexible individuals to join their on-call team as a back-up nanny. This role is ideal for those with experience in childcare, such as babysitting, daycare work, nannying, or church nursery volunteering, as well as retired teachers. The position offers a flexible schedule, with full-time opportunities available in Kenmore. As a back-up nanny, you will care for children from infants to toddlers in their homes, focusing on safety and hands-on activities. The highest demand is for care of children under the age of 2. Household duties are limited to cleaning up after your own activities or meals with the child, and transportation of children is not required.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Experience working with children, paid or unpaid, infant experience mandatory
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to travel to various homes throughout the area
- Available any 4 or more days for 6 - 8 hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm
- Commitment to be communicative and responsive to the staffing supervisor
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
- Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
- Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations
- May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner

Responsibilities
- Care for children in-home
- Support families who need care for children ranging from infants through toddlers
- Engage children by providing safety and leading hands-on activities based on your observations of the children’s age-appropriate development
- No household duties other than common sense clean-up of your activities or meals with the child
